CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
Hello everyone, in today's blog I will talk about some changes that could be made in my study program.
The curriculum of these years (I am currently in my second year of dental studies) is based mainly on two aspects, the theoretical aspect, where we find subjects such as chemistry, physics, pathology, etc. and the practical aspect, where we attend laboratories such as chemistry, anatomy rooms and preclinical rooms where we practice everything that is dentistry itself. Due to the pandemic, we have lost a lot of preclinical practice, so I think the curriculum should change for the next few years and add more practical work time, adjusting the workload according to practical demands, especially when attending patients in the clinic, which is where students usually extend the length of their studies, because the demand is too much. So far the teaching methods have worked well, and I hope that it will continue to work in the same way or even better.
Another thing I would like to change would be to have a course that allows you to do it outdoors, as I feel that we do not enjoy the faculty spaces. One thing I have to admit is that the faculty does not have a lousy infrastructure as you would expect, in fact, it is quite good (except for the casino and the library, which seem a bit small to me), and it has the technologies necessary to simulate clinical practice (fair and necessary) which might be better considering the amount of money we pay to study, being another thing I would like to change.
